Psoriasis. Are You Inflamed?

Psoriasis. A skin disorder that affects close to 7 million people in the US. Immune system imbalances are involved, yet it is not contagious. Psoriasis is characterized by an abnormal growth of skin cells. While psoriatic skin cells take an abnormal 3-6 days to mature, normal skin cells mature in a month. It may seem like a simple skin disorder, but did you know over 450 people die each year from certain complications due to severe psoriasis? Symptoms include:

  • Arthritic joint pain and skin
    joint inflammation
  • a significant ‘dip’ or pitting of the nails
  • inflammation, scaling and redness of skin usually on hands, feet, scalp, knees, behind knees, inside and outside of elbows
  • intense skin peeling, sometimes

Some severe cases have shown large amounts of skin loss which then make the person susceptible to infections that can become serious.

Excellent results are seen with a holistic approach including the following natural therapies that help correct psoriasis by focusing on strengthening the immune system, strengthening the nervous system to cope with stresses better, reducing stress, and reducing discomfort with anti-inflammatories:

Healthy skin is attainable as so many have shown when using a natural holistic approach. And this is highly encouraged and stated in a report in The Lancet. The immune system needs time for strengthening. Use the above supplements for 3-6 months to ultimately help the body heal from this disorder. Healthy skin to All! Be Well!

Endometriosis: It’s Painful And Attacks Other Organs

Some women, during their monthly period (menstruation),  bleed severely heavy from the vagina, and sometimes from the rectum.  Most times this is caused by Endometriosis.

And what is Endometriosis exactly? It is an inflammation, many times a severe inflammation, caused by endometrial tissue that is not shed properly during menstruation.  This tissue escapes the uterus and spreads and attacks other organs in the body such as:  lymph nodes, fallopian tubes, ovaries, bladder, kidneys, rectum,  and lungs.  Excessive pain develops when, with time,  the tissue thickens and breaks down to bleeding. Research shows 40-55%  of infertility in American women is due to Endometriosis.  And, scar tissue builds up,  increasing the risk of uterine and even breast fibroids.

Studies also show a link between Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome following an endometriosis diagnosis. Western conventional medicine focuses on prescribing chemical hormone medications with side effects that include:  acne,  unwanted facial and body hair growth, and hot flashes.

Causes of Endometriosis? Yeast infections (click to read my article on Yeast Infections),  like candida, which create small perforations on the uterine wall, are a common cause of endometriosis.   A diet high in caffeine, fat, low essential fatty acids (EFA), low magnesium levels, is also very much a contributor to this painful female problem. And again, something I have pointed out many times  is one of the causes of many female sexual and hormonal health challenges, estrogen dominance/high estrogen levels along with low progesterone are hormonal imbalances that cause abnormal behavior of the endometrium. A woman with this challenge desires relief immediately of this discomfort.

Watch the YouTube video below on Dr. Julissa’s channel, Natural Health Matters TV for more on this female challenge:

Call Dr. Julissa today at 212.923.6366 and make an appointment to discuss this and other health issues. She is available for in-office appointments, phone, Skype, and/or FaceTime consultations.

I recommend the following to patients and clients for minimum 60-90 days to reduce spasms and inflammation; to clear toxins, wastes and relieve pain; balance hormones; relieve overall tension and stress, and balance excess estrogen and progesterone. Click each link for detailed information.:
